When Bruce Rawles was a kid, his folks were positive influences in Bruce’s destiny. His dad, a cyclotron supervisor at Lawrence Livermore Labs, gave Bruce a sense of nature and its symmetries, while his mother followed more of the mystic’s path, influencing, or perhaps sensitizing Bruce to the unknowable essence of life. These influences culminated in Bruce’s passion and creative outlet in the important ‘Geometry Code,’ Bruce’s website and forthcoming book. I spoke with Bruce and parts of our exchange follows:
WSF: “Tell me about yourself.”
BR: "I was born in Texas, and had a good childhood. My mom had a UFO encounter, which led to her fascination with the metaphysical. My dad enjoyed the outdoors, and when I tagged along on his hunting trips, it enabled me to explore symmetries found in the natural world. During my college years, I built a geodesic dome. I studied metaphysics, Kirlian photography, Ham radio, flying, and electronic music.”
WSF (thinking): Explorations with his Moog synthesizer probably helped enter the fourth dimension, as did mine.
BR: "Reading books like Tompkins’ “Secrets of the Great Pyramid” were pivotal in Bruce’s metaphysical development, as were learning geometrical relationships like the Apothem, a bi-sected triangle face resulting in phi ratios."
